Irritability and behavioral disorders can significantly impact daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. These conditions often involve difficulties with emotional regulation, impulsivity, and managing responses to stress. While occasional irritability is normal, persistent or intense outbursts may indicate an underlying behavioral disorder that requires professional care.

Dr. Marc Heiser specializes in diagnosing and treating a range of behavioral disorders in children, adolescents, and adults, using a comprehensive approach that includes therapy, medication management, and personalized care plans.

Common Symptoms of Behavioral Disorders

Behavioral disorders can present with a variety of symptoms, such as:

  • Frequent irritability or angry outbursts.
  • Impulsivity and difficulty controlling actions or speech.
  • Defiance or opposition to authority figures.
  • Aggressive behaviors toward others or property.
  • Emotional dysregulation, including rapid mood swings.
  • Difficulty following rules or complying with requests.

If these symptoms are causing significant distress or impairing daily functioning, a professional evaluation can help identify the underlying cause.
